Each spring students in fourth grade submit themes that they have drawn for the Mural Contest and we choose a winner. In the fall when students return as fifth graders they paint the mural. The winning artist who created this year’s mural theme was Lucy Stay. She drew a scenic drawing of Albert Lea with the rural and city concepts. She did a great job and so did the other fifth graders who helped paint. If you want to see the mural it is mounted on the outside of Sibley on the side of the building that faces Front Street.
